Use Supabase for prototypes, hackathons, side projects and early products where getting working CRUD, authentication and access control quickly matters more than tuning infrastructure. PostgreSQL lowers the data-model change required by a later PostgreSQL migration, but Auth, Storage, Realtime and Edge Functions each add a separate exit project.
How to apply
- Choose it as the speed-first database path around Rapid B2C App MVP, while keeping the exit signals in Deciding When to Leave Supabase visible.
- Introduce an application API before moving data when following Staging a Supabase Database Migration.
- Compare its PostgreSQL model with Firebase when relational queries, transactions and future migration shape matter.
Limits
-
Current pricing, quotas, compute isolation, high-availability options and supported extensions were not verified against live product documentation.
